Guinot Conference and Awards Ceremony 2018

On Sunday 28th January 2018, The House Beauty Spa attended Guinot’s Conference and Awards Ceremony 2018 at The Brewery, London. The Conference gave us a sneak peek of what to expect from Guinot in the next 12 months, including a demonstration of the beautiful new Masters Colors makeup range (coming soon to Childwall and Mather Avenue). The day ended with an inspiring talk from Jo Fairley, co-founder of Green & Black’s Chocolate and director of The Perfume Society.

The Awards Ceremony was a sophisticated black tie event hosted by Gok Wan. The House Beauty Spa went on to collect a Special Commendation for Salon of Excellence, coming joint second out of 1.500 competing salons from the UK and Ireland. Our exceptional Beauty Therapist Amy Hart was awarded Regional Therapist of the Year after being shortlisted in the top 17 Guinot therapists. The spas have also received a Crown Salon Award for the sixth year running, acknowledging our product knowledge, execution of Guinot treatments and loyalty to the brand.

A special thank you to all of our clients who continue to support the spas, we couldn’t have done it without you!

Feed Your Skin with Aromatherapy Associates

Aromatherapy Associates’ Bath and Shower Oils are a favourite amongst our Beauty Therapists. We use all ten oils as a medicine cabinet: Support Breathe to ward off colds and the flu, Relax Deep for bouts of insomnia and Support Lavender and Peppermint to relieve stomach and headaches.

This month we are delighted to introduce their brand new Face Oil Collection. With all six of their expertly formulated Face Oils in handy 3ml bottles, it makes the perfect addition to your holistic ‘first aid kit’. Read on for the benefits of each oil.

Anti-Ageing Intensive Skin Treatment Oil

  • Can help speed up skin regeneration and cell renewal when massaged into scar tissue.

Anti-Ageing Fine Line Face Oil

  • Packed full of protective oils (olive oil, jojoba oil, sandalwood) and anti-oxidants (raspberry seed oil), this oil is ideal for those concerned with signs of ageing.
  • Apple seed extract increases collagen synthesis and elasticity.

Hydrating Revitalising Face Oil

  • Containing rose, frankincense and borage oils, this face oil can be used for a radiance boost on dull, tired looking skin.
  • Peach kernel oil promotes elasticity of the skin.

Hydrating Nourishing Face Oil

  • The combination of rose, sandalwood, jojoba and evening primrose oils make this oil perfect for delicate skins, especially after exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Sandalwood adds to the application experience by calming and relaxing the mind.

Inner Strength Soothing Face Oil

  • This soothing, gentle oil can be used on all skin types but is especially healing for sensitive, reactive skin.
  • Evening primrose oil helps to reduce inflammation while German and Roman chamomile aid in skin regeneration.

Mattifying Refining Face Oil

Winter Must-Haves

The temperature has dropped in Liverpool and our clients have been noticing some dryness in their skin. Read on for our recommendations on how to boost your skin’s hydration.

If you’re not using one already, introduce a facial oil into your routine. Layered over serum but under moisturiser, your facial oil will act as a replenishing barrier. Try our favourite Elemis Superfood Oil (£45.00) made with antioxidant and omega-rich ingredients to nourish and brighten dull skin.

Treat yourself to a luxury manicure. Our Margaret Dabbs Spa Luxury Manicure (£45.00) uses a hydrating mask, heated mitts and a hand and arm massage to transform neglected skin. We tidy your nail shape and cuticles before applying your choice of colour. The treatment is perfect for anyone who needs a replenishing treatment after wearing gel or acrylic enhancements.

Try Guinot’s moisturising range. In addition to their bestselling Crème Hydra Beaute (£44.00) and Hydrazone (from £52.00), Guinot have launched Hydra Summum (£86.50). Hydra Summum has super hydrating active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and aquasilanol, to increase the skin’s water capacity and prevent moisture loss. We would recommend maintaining moisture levels with a monthly Hydradermie 2 facial.

Don’t forget to protect the skin on your body. Complimenting their award-winning range of Bath and Shower Oils, Aromatherapy Associates Body Oils are made using 100% plant and essential oils (from £45.00). Get the benefits of aromatherapy while you apply your favourite oil. We love the uplifting effect of the Inner Strength Body Oil with an aromatic blend of clary sage, vetivert and geranium.

Swap your soap for a shower cream. Elemis’ beautifully scented shower creams (£26.00) condition and soften the skin as you cleanse. Natural foaming agents are gentler on the skin and don’t leave it feeling stripped of moisture. Available in Sweet Orchid, British Botanical and Frangipani.

For all of your skincare-related concerns, we offer complimentary consultations. To book your appointment, call us on 0151 722 4999 or 0151 724 4999.

House Beauty Spa Book-64

On Monday 27th November, Sharron Lowe joined The House Beauty Spa for our last book signing of the year. Sharron is a business coach and motivational speaker, with years of experience working with global luxury brands (including Chanel, Dior and Lancome).

Sharron’s latest book, The Mind Makeover, shares her success strategies and aims to give readers a ‘mind lift’ by reframing a negative mindset and building self-confidence. Sharron inspired our guests to make positive changes with excerpts from her book and a fascinating interview.

House Beauty Spa Book-1

The Hilton Hotel was the perfect setting for the event, with festive table arrangements from Tamzyn Angela and a delicious three course Christmas meal. Guinot provided every guest with a Christmas cracker containing deluxe samples of their bestselling face and body products. We were entertained by George Gallagher, Danielle Louise Thomas and Connie Lush who set the tone for a spectacular evening.

House Beauty Spa Book-13

The book signing raised a total of £1,805.00 for Variety The Children’s Charity, supporting children and young people in the UK who are sick, disabled and disadvantaged.

Introducing Guinot Hydra Peeling at The House Beauty Spa

Always the first to bring you the latest facial technology, The House Beauty Spa is delighted to announce the arrival of Guinot Hydra Peeling.

What is it?

Guinot Hydra Peeling comes in two variations: Hydra Peeling with PH (for all skin types*) and Hydra Peeling with Hydrabrasion (for sensitive skins).

How does it work?

Hydra Peeling with PH
Using active ingredients such as phytic acid and biolactone, the products exfoliate deep-down with 80% of women finding that the treatment had a lightening effect on their dark spots and visibly reduced signs of ageing after a course of three treatments.

Hydra Peeling with Hydrabrasion
This facial increases cell turnover using natural cellulose particles and papaya extract that break down dead skin cells with a mechanical action. 100% of women agreed that the treatment resulted in radiant, luminous and more even-toned skin after just one treatment.

Both facials include bespoke massage techniques to stimulate cellular activity and restore the skin’s natural PH level. Finally, a soothing mask is applied to nourish and restructure the skin’s barrier.

Who is it for?

Anyone who is concerned with dark spots and pigmentation. It is ideal for visible signs of ageing or for those who need a radiance boost. A course of three (one per week for three weeks) is recommended to see the best results. The facial is perfect for anyone who is tempted by a chemical peel as it is a gentler, more affordable approach to peeling with fewer side effects.

For more information or to make an appointment, please call Childwall on 0151 722 4999 or Mather Avenue on 0151 724 4999.

*A patch test is required 24 hours before Guinot Hydra Peeling with PH.
